The title is EXACTLY how I feel about this damn song and mixtape in GENERAL!!! I've blogged about The Weeknd before. Let me make some corrections...this is NOT a group. This is a one man show! The person behind this musical drug is Abel Tesfaye. This 21-year old Toronto, ON (Canada) is effin incredible in my opinion. His second mixtape, Thursday, was released on Thursday, August 18th, 2011. (A coincidence...I think NOT..lol) This has been one of those CDs that has been in constant rotation for me. Me telling you about it isn't going to do it any justice, so download the mixtape here. My fav songs...."Thursday", "The Zone", "The Birds Part 1", "The Birds Part 2", "Rolling Stone", along with the one I'm featuring.
Can someone hurry up and SIGN THIS THIS!!!
A TIP to men out there....you want to get it IN with you're boo thang...I recommend this mixtape...hell..maybe just this song! lol
I KNOW ya'll remember this song! Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of the 1990s. Although this song came out in exactly the year 2000, it still has that 90s flavor. Koffee Brown's "After Party" deadass, makess me want to throw a nice little 90s party, and play nothing but all the 90s jams (with the exception of a few early 2000s jams as well.) I still might very much do it. I think it'd would be a great turn out depending on the location, and who all I invite AND who's willingly to travel for it :-). But it all seriousness, it really is a thought. *wheels are turning...my bday is coming up soon....hmmmm* I love feel good music, and although some parts of this song is lightweight "freaky" (listen to the lyrics really carefully within the guy's verse and the girl's verse. ), it's still appropriate to listen and dance to. I hope you guys enjoy this little throwback tune. Maybe I'll create a post with all of my favorite 90s music. :-)
This is my new ish! Makes me feel like fist pumpin! Hahahaha! Or just dancing around my room BLASTING IT! And of course..Adam Levine and Christina Aguilar.....why not!
Any time I start my day off with music, I know that I'm going to be in a good mood. Today was one of those days. What makes my musical days even better is when I have my favorite artists in rotation. Today artist rotation was none other than Tremaine "Trey Songs" Neverson. Those who know me best, KNOWS how I feel about this man. He will probably be the father of my future children. Hahahaha! I kid, I kid! Far past the physical attraction, I respect Trey Songs as an artist. His grind, his determination, his personality (or what it APPEARS to be), and his music. Some of you will say that he is our generations R. Kelly. Lol. I think it's true in a sense, but not entirely. I think his music in general was described best as the title on his latest album--Passion, Pain, and Pleasure.
So, in honor of this 28-year old brown skin treat made of nothing but YUMMYNESS (yes, I made up a word...SO...lol), I wanted to just post several of my favorite Trey Songs songs. I'll spare you with the amount that I post lol. Some songs you may have seen on here before. Some you may of never heard of. Just press play and enjoy!!!
"Does She Know"
"Can't Help But Wait"
"One Love"
"Scratchin Me Up" <~THIIISS SONG!!! Smh! lol
"Does He Do It"
"Already Taken"
"Just Not Fair"
"Say Ahh"
"For Ya'll"
"Unfortunate"
"We Should Be"
"Role Play"
"Made To Be Together"
I'm REALLY sparing ya'll right now. Lol. I'll stop it here. Hope you've enjoyed the few that I've posted. Have a great night beautiful people!
I LOVE Adele's "21" album. You'll probably see more of her music featured on this blog site, but I wanted to keep this post short and sweet. Nothing more needs to be said. Happy listening! :-)
Disclaimer: I know that is seems like I've been blogging about music lately, but I can't help that. That's what I've been surrounding myself with recently. And plus, this is MY BLOG, I can post what I want. Lol. But I promise I will get back to the randomness soon ;-)
Well ladies and gents...Beyonce has done it again with her release of her 4th studio album "4". I've actually had this album for quite some time before it came out. (I think album leaks are done on purpose these days, but I digress.) I'd have to say that I am in love with this album. Beyonce is definitely one of my favorite artists, and I think this album does the music world justice after a 3 year hiatus. This album has a bit of everything; the "I love you" songs, "I miss you" songs, "I hate you" songs, female empowerment, dance records, etc.
One of my favs that I would have to say that touches me the most on this album is "1+1".. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, I'm a fan of the sappy love songs. I can't help it. And this song is no different. Sappiness ALL the WAY! Lol. But seriously, every time I listen to this song, tears well up in my eyes. It takes me back to love. The emotions, the feelings, the memories, the embrace, the exact moment where I fell, the whole 9! If you just listen to Beyonce's tone, the emotions, you can tell she is singing from her heart, and I felt that completely. It's not just another love song to me. The last time I felt this way about a love song was Monica's "Everything To Me". Powerful love songs just move me. Whether I'm in love, missing love, or not. I'm sure many of you have heard some songs of her album already, but check out the song below if you haven't heard this one. If you're anything like me, you'd appreciate this song as well.
"4" in stores TODAY!!!! Support my fellow astrology sister (Virgooooo!), and get the album!
I soo need to be focused on what I have coming up within the next 2 days, but I had to take a quick intermission to just let my mind breathe and be at ease, and what other way to do it but to listen to the sweet sounds of Sade. Words CANNOT express what Sade's music means to me. I grew up on Sade. My mom use to play her CDs all the time and still does. My musical love affair with her continued to grow stronger and stronger as I got older and started really listening to her words. (BTW, if you don't know who Sade is, PLEASE Google her, and then SLAP yourself...lol)
There's no OTHER artist out there that can GIVE me what Sade gives to me--NO ONE. Her vocals, her unique tone, lyrics, choice of words, the stories within her songs, etc...I just love this woman! I know it may sound like I'm "girl crushing" HARD but it's SOO much deeper than that.
I have many favs when it comes to her songs, but these two that I'm about to feature are two of my top favs and the songs that have been on my mind all day.
First song......"Love is Stronger Than Pride"
"I won't pretend that I intend to stop living,
I won't pretend, that I'm good at forgiving
But I can't hate you
Although I have tried
Mmmmmm
I still really really love you
Love is stronger than pride"
This song gives me the chills every time I listen to it. And it seems to always play at the right time. It's funny how they're songs for every moment goes on within your life.
I love this song for several reasons. I agree with the title. I feel whole-heartedly that love is stronger than pride. My interpretation of this song: A woman who is dealing with a situation from a man that she loves--a break up, a break, or maybe she's just upset with him. He has done some unforgivable things and she's not saying that she's a pro when it comes to forgiving them, and although he's done some effed up things and has tried to hate him, she can't, because she's very much still in love with him. And that's just the beginning. Later on in the song she says "Sitting here wasting my time, would be like waiting for the sun to rise"....then proceeds to say a few lines down "Sitting here waiting for you would be like waiting for winter....". This could mean several things, but to me, it seems like she's either willingly and waiting for him to get it together, or that there is no point in holding on anymore. Whatever the case my be, I love this song, and it has been in rotation majority of the day! :-)
Second song "Like A Tattoo"
I'm not even going to go into my interpretation of this song. I'd rather you guys just listen to it. Listen to the words, listen to the story, and let the music move you and take you somewhere that you didn't know that you could go.
I'm the type of person that day dreams....A LOT. I don't mean to, but my thoughts sometimes just gets to me to the point where I'm staring off into space just letting my thoughts take me to where ever they're trying to go. Then I SNAP back when the time is right. Add music to the scene and I'm on a WHOLE different level. Sade's music overall just moves me. Songs about love, struggle, heartache, hurt, happiness, etc. I know a lot of other artists out there write/sing about the same thing, but it's different. It's inexplicable. Her music either makes me laugh, smile, cry, revisit feelings, relax, think, among others, on a different level that other songs do.
There's only one person on this earth that knows how I feel about Sade. So I'm going to take a leap and dedicate these songs to them. I know that you love and appreciate her work as much as do I, and can't help but to think about you every time I listen to her songs....
Now before you get TURNED on by the title, it's not what you think. If it's hasn't been more clear to you now, I AM A HUGE FAN OF MUSIC! There's music for EVERY situation. In this particular post, it's all about the "sexy playlist". Now, I don't necessarily mean having sexual relations or being intimate when I talk about the "sexy playlist". Sometimes you just have moments (well, I know I do lol) where I just feel like being sexy or thinking sexy--NO SEX involved. You don't always need a man or woman to make you feel sexy. Sometimes all you need is good sexy music! And these songs that follow below make me feel...well...SEXY!!! So hopefully they will make you feel sexy as well. Enjoy!

I hate trying to go to sleep when I have a lot of things on my heart and mind that could be solved so quickly. Deja vu has been alive for some months now, but more prevalent within these past weeks. I hate the feeling where I feel like I have to hide or contain what lies on the inside. As Ms. Lauryn Hill once said..."It could all be so simple..." Any who, there's been numerous of new music this week that has been on rotation for me, but I wanted to share the song that has been on HEAVY rotation since I've discovered it the other day. "How to Love" is featured on Lil Wayne's up coming album. I'm not going to go into the song too much, I'll just let you listen to it if you haven't already. I really love this song, and the fact that Wayne is showing a different side of himself and singing and sounds GOOD just goes to show that he's a versatile artist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Just wanted you to share this random music moment with me. One of my really good friends posted about interludes (check out her blog here....Les Is More) being the lost art when it comes to music, and I couldn't agree any more with her. A lot of interludes out here could definitely be made into full songs, and sometimes I'm a bit disappointed that some aren't, but either way, I always enjoy a great interlude. "The Girl With The Tattoo" is featured on singer Miguel's album All I Want Is You. Check it out. I'm sure you can appreciate it as much as I do.
I have to say. I get a RUSH out of finding new music. Given the week that I have, there's nothing better that brings me joy then MUSIC...NEWMUSIC at that. NEWGOODMUSIC! This young lady is not a stranger to the music game at all. She's very familiar to those who were B2K fans back in the day *raises hand* Remember the songs "Happy", "Dog", and "He Couldn't Kiss"? (just to shake your memory :-) ) Anywho, for those who do not know her, let me introduce you to Ms. Jhene Akio Efuru Chilombo. (b.k.a Jhene Akio.) I stumbled upon her mixtape today titled Sailing Souls and I have to say...I LOVE IT!! It's exactly what I needed at this very moment. Honestly, she's like the female version of Drake. Her voice, a different sound from the rest, but that makes her stand out even more. She DEFINITELY can sing--HANDS DOWN! So far, I've been playing "Stranger" back to back to BACK. It's my fav on this mixtape, but honestly, I love all the songs. "My Mine", "You vs. Them", "Do Better Blues", "Hoe" feat Miguel, "July" feat Drake (which I heard a year ago) and many more. It's a great listen and I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Check out the song that I have
been playing back below. Enjoy! :-)
This would have been a good song to listen to while we had that bad weather this weekend up north. Lol. This version of J Cole's "In The Morning" is Omarion's rendition of it. It's only a verse and a chorus, but still good and a must hear. Heard this a couple months back, but currently my song of choice at this moment. Enjoy! :-)
I hope this video plays for you guys. I posted it up on Facebook last week and due to the "explicit" content Facebook was on that {*censored*} and wouldn't allow it to play. Anywho, I love this song. It makes me wanna do my sexy dance. Hehe. :-) Just enjoy this song with me.
I have to say that the first time I honestly heard this song was on the Season 4 premiere of BET's "The Game", and I instantly fell in love with this song. Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. also known as B.O.B, is a 22 year old rap artist from Atlanta, GA. Many people slept on him way back when he came out with "Haterz Everywhere". I must admit, I liked the song, and it did gain #5 on the U.S. Billboard chart. Since then, B.O.B has proven that he is MUSIC worthy with the hit singles "Nothin On You" feat Bruno Mars, and "Airplanes" feat Hayley Williams. "Don't Let Me Fall" is off of his debut album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray released in April 2010. I'd have to say, he is not only a decent rapper, but the man can also sing. Open your mind to the lyrics of this song and I'm sure that any one can relate to the lyrics. Just the chorus itself was an INSTANT trigger for me. B.O.B has definitely gain a fan with me. There's no doubt that his future will be bright. At the solid age of 22, he can only go up from here. For more info on B.O.B, be sure to Google him.
If you haven't noticed by now, my brain is like my own personal jukebox--its a gift and a curse. Lol. Anywho, woke up with these 3 songs in my head. No pun intended with the meaning or content with the words, I just like theses songs. So bear with me as I have a random music moment. No description is really needed. Just click and enjoy! :-)
This song takes me back to Summer 09'. It makes me smile and can't help to smile about it now--Bittersweet.
I hope you all had a great Monday and enjoying your evening. I'm POOPED but it didn't stop me from blogging. Primarily because the person I want to share my events of the day with is currently unavailable and is not within my reach at the moment. *sighs* So, what can you do...*Melly Shrug*
These next two songs that I am about to post I have been BLASTING in the car any chance I got today. Felt great to cruise to these songs after work, while overlooking the skyline of the BIG CITY from afar...reminded me of....*sighs*
Anywho...on to the post :-)
I've been bumping this song ALL day. Back to Back to BACK!!!! I really was just in a Drake mood today. In fact, this was the other song that I woke up to this morning (in my head of course). This song titled "Unforgettable" feat Young Jeezy, is featured on Drake's first official album, Thank Me Later released back in June 2010. Thank Me Later features a lot of his frequently played hits including "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", and "Fancy". I honestly think that there isn't a SINGLE SOUL on this planet that does NOT know who Drizzy Drake is. (In our generation I'm referring to. Feel free to Google him if you don't.)
Now, getting back to this song, I love it! Seems like I love a lot of songs but hey....you can't blame me...I'm a music head and not ashamed about it--I love GOOD music--PERIOD!!! "Unforgettable" to me has a double meaning. If you listen to the lyrics of this song, I think you could figure it out. The greatest thing about music is that you can analyze it your own way. There are no right or wrong answers. Moving on though, the double meaning that I get out of this song is 1.) Someone who is rising to the top and trying to stay on top and does not want anyone to forget who they are...the name they made for themselves...and just in general, how hot they are. Sounds cocky doesn't it....but there's nothing wrong with trying to be unforgettable in that light. In Drake's case, I think he doesn't want ANYONE to forget how talented he is. Who can blame him! Now on to 2.) A break up that has occurred and this person (male or female) does not want to be forgotten--which is also normal. When a relationship ends...whether it ends on good or bad terms...I think it's normal to not want to be forgotten. In a situation where the relationship was GREAT and this person was indeed the "Best You Ever Had" (like how I slid that in there...hehehe...I know, I know, I'm soo corny..lol) then of COURSE you don't want to be forgotten.
As I stated above, how ever you decide to interpret this song is up to you. If you're not familiar with this tune, then take a listen. You talk wanting to hear quality music....then.....here it is.
NOOOOOOWWWW...on this the next song!!!
I'm not even going to get into a long detailed or even a short description of this song with this artist. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE ME SOME TRIGGA TREY! Like, it's NOT A GAME. His looks have something to do with it, but I really like his songs--even if MOST OF his songs are sex related. Let's be serious now people....SEX SELLS! Anywho, "Unfortunate" which is on this 3rd album titled Passion, Pain, and Pleasure, has to be one of my MOST FAV Trey songs. I'm not even going to analyze the lyrics of this song. Just take a listen! And I promise, ANYONE can relate to these lyrics. And if you can't, then that means you have NEVER had a serious break up in your life.
Hope you guys can open your minds and let some new music into your life. Both of these songs never seem to disappoint...at least to me they don't. Relate-able an an easy listen...what's not to like about them!
Hope your ears enjoy what they are about to hear ( or have already heard ;-) )
I've become such a blog addict I tell you. But since I woke up on the right side of the bed, and with a certain person on my mind this AM, I wanted to share this music moment with you. Now, there were two songs that I woke up to in my head, and I figured i'd just post this one first. If you guys haven't guessed by now, I'm a HUGE Chris Brown fan! This young man has soo much talent. Anywho, this song is from his CD "Graffiti" that was released back in December 2009 that include "I Can Transform Ya" and "Crawl". It's called "I'll Go". I'm such a sucker for sappy love songs and this one is NO different. I'm not going to sit here and analyze the song. The lyrics are real self-explanatory. But, I wanted to dedicate this song to someone--to LOVE. To finding it, to keeping it, to never losing it, and if it so happens to stray away, to finding it's way back.
I'm taking this time to say how much this weekend has been productive for me. I never thought that I could find so much therapy and refuge in blogging, and I am SOO glad that I created this blog. I've been through soo much within these past 5 months, but it's all too normal--nothing that is new to life. From disappointments, rejection, tears, laughter, disagreements, a loss of a close friend (non-death related), to sooo much more. Life wouldn't be worth living if everything stayed constant. The only thing consistent in life is CHANGE and I think we all should embrace it. I feel like I'm finally coming into my own--discovering me. And I have to say...it feels GREAT. I'm embarking on new ventures, I'm helping those who can not help themselves, and everyday I get closer and closer to my dreams and it feels SOO GOOD! I really hope that this moment is not short lived, because I'm currently on a natural high and do not want to be smacked into orbit ANYTIME soon! Lol. So as I sit here, drinking my glass of vino (Chardonnay to be exact) on this cold rainy winter night, I can't help but to give myself a pat on the back. *proceeds to pat self on back* I love my blog, and I will continue to nurture it and watch it grow. I'm hoping that I can keep up with this for as long as I can, whenever I can. Even if no one is reading, I will continue to write and share my thoughts because I know somewhere in this world, SOMEBODY WILL READ. Lol. *Cheers*
This song only seemed fitting for my me moment. Words can NOT express how much I love this song! "Do It All" by Drake has to be ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRAKE SONGS EVER! It's just something about it. It definitely makes me feel good. This beat is CRAZY. Try blasting it with the volume turned up--the bass is something SERIOUS. I was actually having a convo with one of my good friends about this song (who is a BIG Drake fan), and I was happy that we both share the similar feelings when it comes to this record. Now, if I can go out to a bar or lounge and the DJ plays THIS song, I promise you, I will FOREVER support that DJ. Lol. Take a listen! You can't tell me that this song doesn't make you feel the same way. *runs off and proceeds to dance with wine in hand*
I hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday night and had a safe, productive and/or relaxing weekend. I wish you all a positive and productive week ahead. Peace and many blessings.
This song makes me feel good. Like one of those "good clean fun" tracks. If you really listen to the words, I'd rate it PG-13 but it's not that bad lol. Joe Thomas has been in the R&B game for a minute. He came out with hits such as "I Wanna Know", "This Things Your Man Won't Do", and "More and More" just to name a few. This particular song is called "Why Just Be Friends" that was released on his latest album in September 2008.I personal love and wouldn't mind him making another comeback. But in this day and age, you gotta start competing with the people who are tearing up the charts at the moment. It's either you put out a good hit, or you keep it moving. Feel like R&B game is missing quality music in a sense, but there are still other newly release R&B albums that I haven't listened to yet. In the mean time, enjoy this feel good tune. Just makes me want to have a pool party somewhere--just like in the video! :-)
